Pink October 2021: Emma&Chloé commits to women
For several years, Emma&Chloé has been committed to supporting women... On the occasion of Pink October, discover our actions to help fight breast cancer.
1. Emma&Chloé X MÊME: a box committed to women in 2021
Every year, the month of October is dedicated to the fight against breast cancer. On this occasion, numerous initiatives and events are organized to support medical and scientific research into breast cancer. This disease is, even today, the most common cancer in women. Each year, more than 60,000 women in France are affected by breast cancer: it is the leading cause of cancer death in women, and yet if it is detected at an early stage, survival is 99%. This is why screening is so important; it is necessary that all women be made aware of this subject from a young age. It is therefore to better inform and raise awareness about this disease that we at Emma&Chloé have been mobilizing for several years.

This year again the Emma&Chloé team has organized a special Pink October campaign to raise awareness among its subscribers about breast cancer screening, inform them, and remind them that the fight must continue all year round... To support this cause, the Emma&Chloé team has come up with a lovely collaboration with MÊME, a brand of beauty products specifically developed for women affected by cancer and which donates 1% of its turnover to the Unicancer association. “Even when I'm sick, I love myself, I'm loved” is the motto of the cosmetics brand made in France containing 0% toxic ingredients. A feminine brand whose mission is to improve the well-being of these women, but also to help them regain their femininity and self-esteem, which is very important when you're going through a period like this.

That's why, this year for Pink Month, in addition to the usual jewel, subscribers discovered in their Box a strengthening nail polish enriched with silicon from the brand MÊME, perfect for weakened or severely tested nails. With its pretty blackcurrant shade, this polish will bring a sparkling touch of color to any look!
With the goal of supporting prevention and mobilizing everyone, Emma&Chloé has decided to donate €1 to the Unicancer association for every subscription to the Box during the month of October. This donation also serves as support for any woman undergoing treatment at the clinic, but also provides information for anyone looking to get involved or learn about the risks of this disease.
2. SAME? Breast cancer? We tell you everything!
MÊME was the first beauty brand entirely dedicated to people affected by cancer. Judith Levy and Juliette Couturier founded the brand six years ago after both experiencing the disease firsthand and the discomfort that cancer treatments can cause on patients' skin. The side effects of the treatments are very disturbing: dry, dehydrated skin, damaged nails, and a damaged scalp due to wearing a wig. These symptoms can be difficult to live with and have a significant impact on patients' lives. That's why it was important to create products that are 100% dedicated to them. Also, when you're diagnosed with cancer, you tend to question everything and be afraid of many things. MÊME Cosmetics is very careful to avoid any products that are not recommended during treatments or that are subject to doubt.

There are many warning signs. But the first is, of course, the sensation of a lump or a lump in your breast. It is therefore very important that all women learn self-examination. This should be done every month from the age of 25 to check for a lump in the breast or under the armpit. Finally, any change in the appearance of your breasts should alert you: a change in the color of the nipple, the size of the breast, etc.
How and why should you have a mammogram?
There are two options for mammography. Either you are over 50 years old, in which case mammography is recommended at least once every two years and is reimbursed by social security. Or you have been diagnosed with a lump or an abnormality that is in doubt, or you have a family history in your entourage, in which case, upon consultation, we may suggest you have a mammogram earlier, before the age of 50. The latter case requires more regular monitoring by medical personnel.

3. A look back at Emma&Chloé's actions in 2020
At Emma&Chloé, this isn't the first year we've been mobilizing to fight breast cancer. In 2020, we launched a "Pink Selection" on our website, featuring our signature jewelry pieces, all adorned with rose quartz. Throughout the month of October, 10% of sales from this selection were donated to the Ruban Rose Association to support breast cancer research!
We are committed to creating jewelry that appeals to all women, allowing them to feel good about themselves and express their personality. It's therefore only natural that we've been committed to this for several years.

4.And me, how do I get involved?
There are many actions that can be taken to fight breast cancer. There are a huge number of associations, committees, and organizations that are mobilizing in the field, either in the context of cancer research or in the context of supporting people who are undergoing treatment or who have finished their treatment. For example, there are treatments that can improve the well-being and quality of life of patients during their treatment and afterward when they return to normal life. There are therefore a multitude of options to get involved depending on your sensitivity and your desires!
